Sophie at 8 months (oops, a month late!)

Here are the details for our baby girl at 8 months, which was on December 15, the day we flew to Arizona.

• 16 lbs., 10 oz. and 26 1/2” long.
• eating finger foods – cheerios & pears (34 wks)
• standing and moving from the couch to the coffee table (34 wks)
• breaking at the waist so that she would fall on her bum (34 wks)
• pulling herself to a stand at the steps (33 wks)
• saying da (32 wks)
• holding her torso rigid so that we couldn’t sit her down (32 wks)
• pushing herself up onto her knees (31wks)

We still hear a variety of things about the girls... "Wow, they look so different!" or "Wow, Sophie is starting to become her own person!" or "Wow, they are definitely sisters!" You be the judge. Sophie definitely has darker hair than Emily, but she isn't going to be dark brunette. As for developmental milestones, this is what Emily was up to at eight months.

• 25.5” and 16 lbs. 2 oz.
• making silly faces (32 wks).
• standing and playing at the leapfrog table (33 wks.) without help.
• holding out arms to be picked up (33 wks.)
• crawling backwards (34 wks.)
• eating peas, plums, apples, nectarines, chicken, broccoli, fish, raisins, beef
