A Proud Mom

So what is making me proud today? Is it that my daughter curled up on the armchair in my sewing room and fell asleep to the sound of the serger? Perhaps. Maybe that's how Dad felt when we fell asleep with him in the tractor. Actually, he probably would have loved it more if we stayed awake. Back to the topic... nope, that's not why I'm proud.

What's caused me to be excited is that Emily picked out the fabric for her Easter dress. I have two prints of fabric for her to choose from, and she picked out the one that has inspired my visions for her new bedroom decor. Why does that get me excited? Well, as you can see in the picture, it is a pretty bold fabric. The special note, though, is that it has yellow flowers. We have always said that Emily loves yellow. If we give her a choice between her tattered yellow stay-at-home-day shirt and a brand new pink one, she will pick the yellow shirt. It excites me that she chose the fabric and colours that will grace her walls someday soon.

flowers are 6-8" in diameter
