Emily turned three on Monday, November 14. We celebrated her birthday party the day before by having most of her cousins over. All of her grandparents were able to make it. The kids played while the adults watched the CFL playoff games. The boys sat downstairs in front of the TV, while the girls had the game playing on TSN on the computer.
You may recall from a previous post that Emily's hero is Dora the Explorer. She was treated to a Dora cake, made by mom, lots of Dora presents and a Dora pinata. She tells me that she wants a Boots cake next year; Boots is Dora's best friend.
Note to any birthday-cake-making newbies: if your time is limited, and therefore valuable, buy a cake. This Dora cake contains ten different colours of icing and four hours worth of decorating time. It isn't the dispersal of the icing that takes so long, but the changing and mixing of colours.
